This bronze sculpture is made entirely out of cast books. The spines of eight books are aligned vertically to make up the backbone of the figure, and an open book on the figure’s head resembles a mortar board. The artist selected, among other things, old self-help books for their titles and warped pages. He employed a burnout casting process to ensure that embossed lettering and delicate textures of pages were retained. When visiting this piece, study the book titles and see what is discovered.
