Raider Red has been a Texas Tech icon for over 50 years. The mascot was created by Jim Gaspard with an inspiration from drawings by Dirk West. This statue was created by artist Garland Weeks and is life-sized to the Raider Red costume that visitors see around campus and at TTU games. The statue depicts Raider Red on his way to Jones AT&T Stadium holding his guns up. This project was funded by a donation from the Texas Tech Credit Union.
