Inspired by the flat landscape of West Texas, Grygutis designed the punctuation signs of this low horizontal sculptural seating in Texas granite and limestone. From cartoon books to abbreviated internet communications, human emotions and action are often reduced to symbolic punctuation signs. The artist’s placement of the symbols capture the wide range and grand scale of conflicting emotions inspired by football (Jones AT&T Stadium) and life on a college campus (Stangel/Murdough Hall and Knapp Hall).
