The inspiration for The Fire Inside began with the diversity and contrast of the Dance program, housed in the Creative Movement Studio. The fluid movement, the raw strength, and beauty – it is all about power and energy, which often coincides with passion and foundation. The sky is the limit, upward movement – the performance. The dynamic shape of the sculpture changes dramatically from different viewpoints, as if it is moving with the viewer. This piece conveys abstracted movement and power without literally representing one specific form of dance.
