Symbiotic Benches is a work in two parts that tells the story of the importance of relationships within a care-giving facility. The two similar yet obviously separate benches are linked through form and imagery. The connection extends across the surface of each bench with their flowing water and lotus designs. Flowing water symbolizes the potentialities of life and healing. The river is a sign of ease, grace and fluidity. The lotus symbolizes meditation, health, and beauty.
