Dichroic Glass and Stainless Steel

This work was created from 2,257 individual pieces of glass threaded onto and suspended by stainless steel cables at precise intervals to create a three-dimensional pattern. The sunlight from the eastern window strikes the glass elements, which contain a dichroic laminate film. The film is designed to split light wavelengths into a spectrum of colors. These colors change from a deep violet blue to cyan and may reflect a brilliant gold hue based on the time of day and the viewer’s position in relation to the work.
