This life-and-a-quarter sized sculpture represents one of Texas Tech’s well-known mascots, the Masked Rider. Renowned sculptor Grant Speed captures the celebratory gallop of the university’s rider and black American Quarter Horse. The rider’s cape flows while the rider gives the “Guns Up” sign. Names of all former Masked Riders and their horses are etched near the granite base.
