This work is influenced by layers of remembered images. Memories of childhood, visits around the world, literature, and music all helped the artist to form the inspiration in this piece. Watkins uses the rite of remembering as a creative mechanism; memories bring to mind visual images of form, line, and movement that provide the visual texture needed to form this piece.
