This artwork is comprised of four separate mosaic panels which create a narrative that celebrates the Combest Center and its surrounding community, patient care, and education. Also included are specific people, places, activities, and events that are meaningful to the community. The composition is organized by the “Kaleidoscope Quilt Pattern,” which creates an overall geometry of centered compositions that overlap each other and weave vibrant colors into facets of the design. The bottom border of each piece was created by volunteer members of the community using traditional Texas quilt patterns.
