Drawing inspiration from the engineering students that inhabit Bledsoe Hall, the three benches at this site subtly reference both the field of engineering and the physical surroundings of the benches. The base of the benches was inspired by the hollow forms of birds’ bones, referencing biomimetic design, while the backrest mimics electronic circuitry. Both the color of the powder-coated steel and the limestone of the seats resonate with the building materials of Bledsoe Hall.
