Dopson’s work invites the viewer to see the world from a different vantage point. In the Fairyland series, the artist takes the point of view of a small insect and reveals its captivating world. This series was inspired by an incident in 1917 in which photographs of fairies by two young girls were pronounced genuine by respected author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He used the latest photographic science to analyze the negatives, thus forging a connection between science and magic, reality and fairytale.
