What the Wind and the Grass Have Seen is a celebration of the history and tradition of ranching and of the land that sustains it.

The artwork is hand-forged, using centuries-old blacksmithing techniques in the creation. It honors the hard work and spirit of the men and women who pioneered ranching.

The two constants in this narrative sculpture are the wind and the grass.

The grass speaks to abundance and resilience; it is the very lifeblood of the grasslands. The wind represents the passage of time – the movement and vitality of change that affects everything.  The wind flows throughout and transforms from image to image, as time passes.  The wind continues past the final images, symbolizing the changes yet to come and a future full of promise.
