In harmony with the Spanish Renaissance architecture of the building, the design of the metal panels draws inspiration from buildings such as the Alhambra Palace in Spain. While many Spanish Renaissance doors are comprised entirely of carved wood, many of the most important structures commissioned panels of various metals. The combination of architecturally historic iconography with contemporary materials is a fitting approach as it ties the history and beauty of the campus to this contemporary building.
