Odyssey

Constructed from acrylic and mixed media on wood engraving, this modular artwork invites viewers to slow down and study the partial images pieced together. Inspired by an array of subjects from quantum physics to ornithology, and drawing on art historical references and styles, Ken Dixon’s interlocking puzzle pieces bring disparate images and ideas together into a single cohesive arrangement. Odyssey is from Dixon’s Order and Disorder series that he began working on in 1986.
