Dallas, Texas born artist Sandi Stein was known all over the world for her stone sculptures that can be found in the United States, Mexico, France, and Greece. In Texas, you can also see her sculptures at the Dallas Museum of Art and the Trammel Crow Center.
The Gates of Hercules consists of three limestone pillars and are located on the south lawn of Bolin Hall. They were designed and commissioned by Doug Burns, in honor of his mother, father and wife. They were donated to MSU Texas during the 75th Anniversary celebration in 1997.
