Sandblasted Glass, Concrete and LED Lights

Helix Garden is defined by a tall sandblasted glass frieze, concrete, and lighting that is interwoven from one end of the garden to the other. Forming a dynamic curvilinear gesture throughout the garden, the sculpture of overlapping glass panels creates both public spaces for congregating and more private places for sitting and studying. Sandblasted on both sides of the glass, the imagery on the panels makes visible a poetic investigation of plant forms indigenous to the El Paso area. The sequence of imagery with both micro and macroscopic views is a metaphor for the many and varied layers of healing.
